FAQs
General
Check your hot water cylinder. There will be a label on the side of it. If it says MAINS PRESSURE you will require MAINS PRESSURE tapware. If it says LOW PRESSURE, you will require ALL PRESSURE tapware.
Contact your local Plumbing World branch where you purchased the product and they will be able to assist you.
If the drawer looks like it is not sitting flush against the cabinet, you could remove the clear silicone buffers inside the drawers or it could be due to the flexitails from the mixer pushing against the back of the drawer.
The installer can adjust drawer position up/down and left/right to get a flush fit using adjusters on the side of the drawers.
WELS is an acronym for the Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme. It is a national New Zealand regulation established by the Ministry for Environment, compulsory for suppliers of certain water using/dispensing devices, including taps and showers, as a water usage rating system. It allows consumers to make decisions to conserve water and money by comparing the water efficiency between different products. The WELS labelling scheme provides a national standardised star rating system from 0 to 6 stars. The less star rating a product has, the less water efficient it is. Items like bath taps and shower mixers do not need to be WELS rated.
Toilet
If you are not prepared to move the plumbing, you will need to replace like-for-like. Options are:
- Linked or Connector Toilet – pan and cistern are not physically touching each other. There will be a visible pipe between the two which may or may not be covered by a plastic coverplate. It is important to determine if the waste pipe is going through the floor (S-Trap) or through the wall (P-Trap) and purchase accordingly.
- Close Coupled Toilet – the cistern is at least partially touching the pan but the pan is not fully pushed back against the wall. You can see the waste pipe either going down into the floor (S-Trap) or through the wall (P-trap). It is important to get the measurement of the distance from the wall to the centre of the waste pipe going through the floor because this will determine which products will work on your current plumbing set out. Most P-traps are set around 180mm from floor to centre of waste pipe.
- Back to Wall or Close-Coupled Back to Wall Toilet – the base of the cistern is fully touching the back of the pan, and the pan is fully back against the wall with no gap. Most Back to Wall toilets can be installed as a P-Trap (waste pipe through the wall) or S-Trap (waste pipe through the floor). However it is important to understand the likely distance from the wall to the centre of waste and compare that with the adjustability of your chosen toilet.
- Wall Hung or Independent Floor Pan – these have concealed cisterns in the wall. Wall Hung pans will be P-Trap while Floor Pans can be either P-Trap or S-Trap.
If you are prepared to change your waste pipe work then you will have more flexibility with what you can choose but you should consult with your plumber regarding the best choices for your bathroom.

Yes, you can purchase the components on their own and they can be installed with a tile floor and/or a tiled wall.
Reason for blockage:
- Limescale/calcification build up
- Foreign matter/debris
Solution:
- If there is a build-up of limescale - remove with a fingernail or a soft brush.
- Foreign matter/debris - some shower heads and handpieces can be dismantled for cleaning however most cannot. Please call us and we can confirm if cleaning is possible. We recommend a suitable filter is installed in all domestic and commercial situations to protect the entire property.
Yes, but to increase the rate at which the bath fills, the flow restrictor must be removed.
You and your plumber should check the following:
- Is there a blockage in the pipework to the mixer/spout caused by hemp or foreign matter – if so remove and retry.
- Has the correct mixer been installed – i.e. has an All Pressure tap been installed on an unequal pressure system, or has a mains pressure mixer been used?
- Has the mixer been installed correctly, especially in the case of an All Pressure system?
- Is a wall basin mixer being used to fill a bath? If so, has the flow restrictor been removed?
Some of the nozzles on your showerhead might be blocked from limescale build up. Clean the limescale off.
The use of non-approved chemicals/solvents will damage your bath. Acrylic can be damaged by chemical attack causing the surface to shrink and leading to “crazing”. It is important that customers follow the correct cleaning instructions provided with the shower/bath – using warm soapy water to regularly clean. Use of chemicals may void the warranty.
Check installation of bath, especially a drop-in bath like Veneto or Cambridge, that the bath has been installed level. All baths have been designed to provide a fall to the waste and are tested for draining at the factory.
